Jailbroken Kindle Storage Shows Full - Stuck

Hi all,

Recently jailbroken my kindle and trying to fill it with e-books and comics.
I, originally, sent comics across via Calibre and let it convert to .mobi format.
After, I realised that with KoReader, you should actually convert to PDF so that you can view comics in panel mode.
To try and save time, I deleted the comics in the file system on my computer.
I think this is where my error was - as now I have no comics on my kindle, nothing showing there on calibre either and nothing showing on my file system.

My kindle, however, thinks that the storage is full so I can't send anything fresh.
I have double checked going through the files and I cannot see anything. I'm not sure what my next steps are?

Any help would be appreciated, not sure if I now need to restore to factory settings and do a fresh jailbreak (but heard that there is a potential to bricking the kindle if you do it wrong)

TYIA

Update: Opened the kindle in Disk Utility and again in finder and it does show as only 557mb available when it is supposed to be empty - so maybe a hidden file somewhere?

Jailbreak and KoReader was working perfectly fine before I tried to change the format

Another update, trying to find hidden files:
The folder taking up the most storage on the kindle, according to Finder is Koreader at 105mb
Followed by the hidden 'System' folder with 32.7mb.

Adding up all folders manually comes to 182mb (according to what is shown on finder. Despite Disk Utility saying 5.97gb is used)

It looks you're using Mac. I'm Windows user, but probably there're some hidden Recycle Bin / Trash folder on your Kindle that contains deleted files? Or maybe you should run fsck to check for file system errors on Kindle storage partition.

Kindle Storage Cleanup & KOReader Page Count Fix

Issue:
# Hidden trash files in /mnt/us/.Trashes/501 fill storage and cause errors.

Solution:

1. Using KOReader Terminal:
# - Open KOReader → Tools → More Tools → Terminal Emulator → Open Terminal Session
# - Run command:
rm -rf /mnt/us/.Trashes/*

(This will delete everything in the hidden trash folder, for example, I had around 900MB of book data that had not properly been removed)

2. Using USB (no SSH):
# - Connect Kindle to your computer
# - Enable viewing hidden files (Cmd+Shift+. on Mac)
# - Navigate to /.Trashes/501
# - Delete all files/folders inside
# - Safely eject and reboot Kindle

Optional: Check what large files are actually on Kindle storage:
du /mnt/us | sort -rn | head -n 20

Result:
# Clears trash, frees space, and restores plugin functionality.

hope this helps!
