Fuzzy display in ebook viewer
After many windows 11 updates, I started having little display bugs with my video viewer (VLC media player) so I searched for the specific Samsung drivers for my screen (although Windows told me everything was supposed to be already working properly) and installed them. The video problem was solved.
I do not know if the problem I am about to describe was already present before I updated Calibre to the 7.24 version but after that, the ebook viewer shows "fuzzy lettering" on the pages of my books AND on the viewer interface. The fonts on the interface of Calibre itself though are perfectly clear. How do I fix this please? |

I already tried with Verdana and Courrier to no avail. I have rebooted my PC, reinstalled the screen drivers, and used the "repair" function of the Calibre installation file. Nothing worked.

Quick update: it seems that the changes I did took some time to appear or be applied. In any case, the problem is fixed bu because of the delay, I cannot tell you what it was that I did that fixed the problem. But a minute later, the pages got fuzzy again. So the problem is unstable.

I have the fuzzy viewer display on Windows 10. It's been there for many calibre versions, I have no idea exactly when it started. It will go away if I move the viewer a bit, but it's back every time I open the viewer again after closing it. For this reason I mostly use the old viewer from version 3.48.

Hmm, I thought this issue was gone for everyone.
You may want to check these threads: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...7&postcount=51 https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=348475 |

Lol.
![]() As I said, I have tried various settings and can't tell if setting that env var alone was what solved the issue for me back then. |

I'd rather not do anything that would change other things on my computer. I'm not tech-savvy enough to play around with settings I don't understand; I might mess up something I wouldn't know how to fix.
Using the old viewer (which has no fuzzy text issue) is the best solution for me at the moment. |

First thing I would try is this Windows setting:
https://superuser.com/questions/1230...e-command-line (as I noted in post #3 of the thread about the env vars) |
