Changes Not Reflected in Calibre Development Environment After First Run

I've set up a development environment for Calibre following the official documentation. The initial setup worked as expected: the code compiled, and I was able to run Calibre with my changes included.

However, after the first run, I noticed that subsequent changes I make to the code are not being reflected in the application

The environment variable CALIBRE_DEVELOP_FROM must be permanently set to the folder containing the calibre source you are changing. Best is to put it in the system environment variables. You see the behavior similar to what you describe if you set it in a cmd box when you installed the source.

You must also ensure that calibre is completely shut down before changing source, including the system tray icon and the content server. Don't change source while calibre is running.

I already did all the steps you mentioned before, and it still didn't help (even after uninstalling and reinstalling calibre)
What I did was that i deleted the files in the following path:
%appdata%/calibre
And since then everything has worked fine
