Calibre freezing when switching back from one specific library

Recently Calibre has started to hang after I switch to one specific library (let's call it "Kobo" - that's the library name) and then try to go back from there to my main library. The problem still exists in the latest Calibre (7.23). The freeze happens only when trying to go back from that one library ("Kobo") to the main one. It doesn't happen when switching from "Kobo" to any other library besides the main, and also doesn't happen when switching to the main library from any other library besides "Kobo".

No idea why. All my libraries are on a local drive, no cloud or network. They all have been excluded from Windows Defender (my only antivirus). "Kobo" is the only one with the full text search enabled, if that matters. The main library is the largest, with over 35 000 entries. All others are much smaller, with 3000 entries or so.

I've run the library check, everything is ok.

I tried running Calibre with no plugins and the freeze didn't happen then. Unfortunately disabling all the plugins that I could disable still caused the crash. The UI plugins (of which I have quite a lot) cannot be disabled. I wouldn't want to uninstall them, as I have lots of customizations there.

Any ideas which plugin might cause the freezing? And why only when switching from "Kobo" to the main library, but not in any other instance? By googling I found that the "Open with..." plugin could cause the crash, but I don't have it installed. View Manager is the obvious culprit, but I don't have any library-specific views.

Uninstalling a plugin will not remove its configuration, but if you are concerned backup the calibre config directory then uninstall the plugins one by one to find the culprit, and the restore the config directory.

You can also try running in debug mode that might print out something useful when the freeze happens.

I found the culprit: it was the Last Modified plugin. Which is strange, as it has not been updated for more than a year, but the crashing started in the last few weeks.

I uninstalled it for the moment.

Aaand I managed to find the cause (should have thought about it before

) - a few weeks ago I performed a major operation in my main library, affecting all the books. I guess the changed modified date for all entries overwhelms the Last Modified plugin when switching between libraries and it crashes. As I find the plugin useful when using the editor, I'll see if I can find a way around this problem.
