Corrupted Library

Hello,
I have been running calibre on Windows. For reasons unrelated to calibre I have replaced windows with linux. Since the calibre library was not on the system disk, it was theoretically not affected by changing the OS. I replaced the boot drive in the process so I still can boot the old windows disk if necessary.

I have installed the latest calibre for linux and when I try to connect to my existing library, I am told that it is corrupted. If I boot windows, calibre is perfectly happy with the library.

Can anyone explain why calibre for linux thinks that the library is corrupted?

Thank you

You're probably using an old version of calibre that came from the linux repositories. Get the current version of calibre directly from the calibre website.

1 - it's a fresh install from curl
2 - the lib was chosen from the browser open dialog pretty much eliminating the chance of a typo

Run check library (stages 1. 2, and 3) on the Windows setup and correct any errors:

Size:	65.9 KB

Then try using library on Linux.

1) You need to post the full error message
2) You cannot share a library folder between different operating systems. They have *very* different file system semantics. The *only* supported way to transfer a calibre library from one OS to another is documented in the FAQ: https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/faq...ter-to-another

Kovid clearly knows what he's talking about, while I was just wildly guessing.
