Question Era - Wanting to expand my storage

Hello everyone!

I'm looking to bump my 16gb Era to something higher. I saw someone on Reddit do something where they were able to replace the storage inside with a higher SD card even without an SD slot. Does anyone know if this is possible with the Era? I would prefer to avoid using the cloud if possible.

Thank you!

It sounds like the Era is using an SD card internally. If that is the case, you may be able to expand to storage to 64GB. But that would mean opening the Era, removing the SD card, cloning the SD card and writing it the larger SD card.

I'm more than comfortable doing that. Do you know where I'd find a guide walking me through it, and if I could expand it past 64 gigs? If I could even get 256 that would be awesome.

I would wait until it can be verified that the Era does have an SD card for storage.

Or you can use USB-C nano flash drive as an external storage.

Took a few days to pull the system open and look at the storage chip, unfortunately the Era doesn't use an SD card for storage, they use an EMMC chip. I'd have to get one custom made to upgrade my storage.
