Kobo ignoring link styles?
I have an epub with a lot of links that I don't want to look like links. I tried to change the style of the <a> tag by putting <style>a {color: black; text-decoration: none}</style> in the head of the xhtml file, which works fine in other epub readers, but not in Kobo's reader - it still displays the links in grey, underlined style.
Is there a way to change Kobo's default link style, or to force it to follow the style in my epub? |

Are the books on your Kobo in kepub format rather than epub format, by any chance? If so the Kobo firmware does force some override CSS on hyperlinks in kepubs, namely:
Code:
a:link, a:visited, a:hover, a:active { border-bottom: 1px dotted black !important; color: #696969 !important; } |

Yes, they are, thank you. Is there anything that I can do about it? Converting to epub makes everything horribly slow, it jumps to links rather than showing a nice popup like the kepub does, and the links are still underlined anyways.
I tried marking my styles important in the kepub and a few other things, but no luck. |

You could post in the kobopatch request thread to ask for an edit to the stylesheet, but that's about it.

I don't know if this will help you. I wanted my kepub TOC entries to stop looking light gray (they are also links) and I accomplished this with the following:
Code:
div.sgc-toc-level-1 a { -webkit-text-fill-color:inherit; } |

Thanks very much, that works beautifully to change the colour.
