Question Various Questions about Kobo Libra Color 2

Hey All,

So I am still trying to get myself accustomed with using the KLC2 and also trying to learn how best use it for reading ebooks and manage my ebooks library on it.

I am always having to find something I wish I knew how to do but I don't know how to do it on the KLC2.

So in this post, I have three questions I am currently pondering how to solve:

1. I installed KFMON mod on my KLC2 ebook reader. There is this message that shows every time at the bottom of the screen every time i power off or shut down my KLC2:

[KFMon] Internal storage unavailable, bye !

I guess this is meant to be system message but it appears on the screen when the device is powered off (see attached pictures to this post).

Is there any way to turn off this message from showing on the screen after the device is powered off?

2. I have a ton of eBooks in PDF format. And I enjoy this habit of highlighting lines when I read technical books where I am trying to learn a new method of application or learning a new skill or a new knowledge. I like to highlight so I can always refer back to the selected key lines in a book

I also own or have the Kobo Stylus 2 pen.

When using the Stylus Pen to highlight lines on eBook PDFs, the highlighted lines are not straight and irregular because they're drawn by hand of course.

Is there a Mod or some way to get auto-correct straight highlighting done on eBooks in the KLC2 or when I am using the Kobo Stylus 2 Pen on the KLC2 ?

What I mean, if i try to draw a straight line highlight by hand (it wont be a perfectly straight line highlight), but then a software Mod or KLC2 will instantly recognize this irregular line highlight drawn and it auto-corrects it to a perfectly straight line highlight. I hope you understand what I am saying here...

If anyone knows the application SumatraPDF, then you know that the straight line highlight feature is easily available in the application when reading PDF books on the SumatraPDF.

3. In Calibre, there are two plugins that allow conversions from PDFs to EPUB and PDFs to KEPUBS:

EPUB Output (1.0.0) - Convert e-books to the EPUB format

KePUB Output (3.7.0) - Convert e-books to the KEPUB format

I read technical books about my subject of interest or field of interest.

I am someone who likes to highlight lines in books and also makes my own study notes on the side in a word document or on a separate note in Evernote.

Which plugin would be best for me to get the perfect conversion output where it comes out perfectly formatted, neat, clean and tidy without a messy look ?

Sometimes ebook conversions from PDFs to EPUBs or to other formats can sometimes or lot of the time turn out to be really bad and really messy.

This is important because I would like to have the best reading experience on the KLC2 device and where I can continue with my habits of highlighting and note-taking.

Thank you for taking the time to read my posted questions !

I can't answer your first two questions, but as to getting the perfect result when converting from PDF... forget it. It's just not possible. PDF is meant for printing, not converting; it is the worst format to convert from and the result is almost always messy. There's no way to fix that other than by hours of manual work.

PDF files are best read as they are. Don't convert them.

I use KOReader to read PDFs and CBZ (comic/manga) format and switch back to Kobo Nickel to read kepub format. I hope you can do note taking in KOReader too.

It's not a Kobo Libra Colour 2 because there's never been a previous Kobo Libra Colour.

Hi

Thank you for your response and comments.

Yes, I have installed the KOReader Mod and I am spending time (whenever I can find it) self-learning on how to use KOReader.

Thank you for the images you had shared, that was helpful to see the capabilities of KOReader for a newbie like me.
