Cybook froze

Hey people,

My cybook stopped responding while i was reading it. I tried to turn the page and it didnt respond anymore. After trying to get it on/off i resetted it.

The only thing the reset did is turn my screen half black thought. I'm now looking at a screen like shown on the picture, and it wont change at all.

I can still get on the internal memory (the 512mb version), and the power-led still does some things, but the screen just wont do a thing. It feels like missing videodrivers

Have you guys any idea what it can be? I tried to flash the thing but that doesnt seem to work... I checked the screen and i dont see any fractures and besides, i was holding the thing when it froze so i wont expect any.

(I've send a mail to support@bookeen.com yesterday, but still waiting for a response)

Thx in advance,

Bart

Most likely, it's just run out of battery power, and you haven't left it plugged in long enough to let the battery got to a power level where it will boot up OK.

Leave it plugged in for a couple of hours, then unplug, press the reset button, and then press the on button.

Unfortunately i left it charging for the whole night (in a charger, not in the USB port), so the battery should be full.

Does the LED still work and can you access it using USB?

The fact that turning it off and then on resulted in that cruddy black-striped display seems to indicate that you've had a hardware failure - probably of your display controller chip/module. You'll probably end up sending it in for repair. Since it's not a broken screen, if you're within the warranty period I suspect you'll pay nothing but shipping.

Agreed. Sure looks like a display controller fault to me.
