Read Aloud Buffer Issue?
When I'm using Read Aloud in Calibre 7.20 in Windows 10 with either of the Windows TTS options, in long chapters the Viewer will skip ahead to the next chapter even though their are pages more to read in the present chapter.
It just happened again and I copied the text to determine when it jumps. It happened at 5647 words, 31590 characters including spaces, 26131 characters excluding spaces. Is this a buffer issue? It skipped 662 words, 3631 characters including spaces. This doesn't happen in Calibre 5.19 the read aloud will not skip ahead on the same material it reads all 6309 words then proceeds to the next chapter. If it is a buffer is there any way I can set it higher? Thanks for any help. |

There's no TTS buffer, there is an audio buffer but that isnt relevant as far as I know. You can test if its that by just scrolling close to the end of the chapter and then starting tts.

Then open an issue and attach one of these files I will take a look at it when I have some time, though given i will have to wait a long time to repro the issue its going to be a low priority fix.

Thanks Kovid, I filed the bug report and attached an epub that it happened to me on both of my windows 10 desktops it has extra long chapters, but it happens in all epubs I've tried that have long chapters.

Thanks for the fix, I just installed a 7.21 and read a 286 page chapter. It didn't skip ahead at all.
