Amazon KFX Comics format in Calibre
Hello,

I would like to ask if it is possible already to open Amazon KFX comics files in Calibre (with some plugins maybe) or if not - is it possible to implement such functionality in the future?

For now I can import this file format to my library, but can't open those files in Calibre e-book reader. To open KFX files I have to export it to my Kindle Oasis 2 first and open it on the reader itself.

Do you have the KFX Input plugin installed? And you would probably have to remove the DRM as well.

Yes I do. I have KFX Input and KFX Output plugins installed with DeDRM (10.0.3), and still no luck. I tried to open KFX files on Calibre 3.48 and 7.19 and I get exactly the same error. It doesn't change anything if I delete plugins, restart Calibre and install them again.

That's why I'm asking.

You need deDRM 10.0.9, not 10.0.3.

I did update DeDRM plugin to version 10.0.9, but result is the same. See attachment.

Sorry, I'm out of ideas. KFX files open in the calibre viewer for me, but they're not comics, just straight text-based novels. Maybe there's something about comics the viewer doesn't like.

Just in case, how exactly are you downloading those KFX files? With the Kindle app? Which version?

In windows set the default application for opening KFX to ebook-viewer.exe and they will open.
