Are AI-generated books much of a problem outside of Kindle?
Pretty much everything I've read about the flood of AI-genned books seems to specifically mention Amazon/Kindle.

However, I can't sure whether that's because it's a problem specifically with Kindle in specific (especially with Unlimited) or because most people just sort of default to Kindle when they think of eReaders and eBook platforms.

Does anyone have more information about whether or not it's an issue with just the Kindle platform, or whether it's affecting other platforms? I've definitely seen AI-genned book covers on the Kobo store, but unsure about the books themselves.

There have been more that a few AI generated books on Kobo. A bit less of a problem than with Amazon due to some of differences between how author payouts are determined between KU and K+.

I suspect the "authors" checking out Kobo are hoping to avoid some of the rules that Amazon has added and the increased scrutiny they are giving books before publishing them.

Amazon may be scrutinizing AI more when a new book is published, but they are also quite happy to offer their AI-generated summaries of reader reviews.
