alternate if MathML not supported

Hi I'm converting some physics writeups to epub format for Calibre conversion to mobi for reading on a Kindle Paperwhite. I like to have the formulas in MathML, and was wondering whether there's a way to have the Kindle hide the un-rendered MathML and instead replace with simple text markup or an SVG.

Example...
Math-ML supported browser renders:

Code:

\[f \ \nu / \lambda\]

Non-Math-ML supported browser (e.g. Kindle) renders:

Code:

f = &nu; / &lambda;

or for more complex equations, a non-Math-ML supported browser renders:

Code:

<img src="freq-vel-wavelength.svg" />

Try converting to azw3/KF8. Mobi is an antique that should never be used. Though even azw3/KF8 MathML support was pretty rudimentary last time I tried it.

All Paperwhite models support the far better azw3/KF8 (or dual mobi which has that in it).
The only Kindles that are mobi only on the last firmware versions are original Kindle, K2, DX and DXG.

Plain Mobi is terrible.

The Kindle platform supports MathML in KFX format by converting it to KVG which is their proprietary implementation of SVG. However the support is hit or miss. You can use Amazon’s Kindle Previewer software to see how your particular equations convert.

It shows how pathetic Amazon Labs 126 are. MathML 2.0 is about 3 years older than original 2007 Kindle.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I looked into KF8 but I don't see any reasonable support for MathML. At this point it's looking like my only option is to convert my block equations into SVGs and stick with html for inline formulas.

In my searches, I found many people with the same frustration from 2009, so it's sad to see so little progress in 15 years.
