Head's Up: Next Release Timing, Translations
FYI
Next Release Timing Our next release will be Sigil 2.1.0. Because of having to wait for Qt 6.6.2 with its critical fixes to be released by Qt and our personal schedules, the next release will be made hopefully shortly after the end of the upcoming easter holidays (after the very end of March). Translation Policy Changes For those helping with Translations on Transifex, I have already pulled in any updated translations from Transifex in prep for our upcoming release, but I will make one more pass just before the end of March. So if your language translations are still not yet at 100%, you still have time to get your changes into Sigil before the 2.1.0 release. There seem to be a lot of stagnant translation efforts. After our next release, the criteria for us to include a language translation inside the released Sigil application will go *up* from 75% minimum translated to 85% minimum translated. In addition, our free Transifex account has a limit to the number of languages we are allowed to have, so any language without any language translation activity in the last year will be removed to free up space for new languages requests and activities. If you do care about any of these completely inactive translations, you may want to help those efforts or archive them to not lose anything. For Those Who Build Their Own For those building their own from source, both Sigil and PageEdit github master repositories are in good shape right now and short of any major bug reports, should be in final form or really close to it. Any feedback on the new Qt 6.6.2 version and Sigil/PageEdit in general would be welcome. We would like to make this upcoming release as rock-solid as possible so any bug reports would be appreciated just like always. Thank you. Last edited by KevinH; 02-27-2024 at 10:01 AM. |

Additional Head's Up: Translations
Based on a quick review of Sigil on Transifex, the following language translations that currently are included with our Sigil and PageEdit official releases will be dropped when we move to the new 85% complete rule.
If you have the ability and interest to help any of these translation efforts in the interim, please do: Sigil Translations that would be dropped under the upcoming 85% done rule az - Azerbaijani ca - Catalan cs - Czech gl - Galician sv - Swedish th - Thai PageEdit Translations that would be dropped under the upcoming 85% done rule zh_TW - Chinese (Taiwan) cs - Czech sv - Swedish All of these language translations are >= 75% complete now and would just need a little help on occasion to reach and maintain things at 85% or better. Is there a way to see how many use Sigil with Swedish? I prefer English myself, but if there is a demand I'm happy to help push Swedish above the threshold.

We collect no data on anything. All we can access are download release counts from github. So we have no way to know how many people use any specific translation.
