What does this [Kobo] database error mean?
I just connected my Sage and got "error connecting with device" again. When I ran Kobo Utilities database check, I got this:

Sorry for putting it in the wrong forum. I managed to get back up and running by logging out of my Kobo account and logging back in, but I have another, related question:
Since my first run-in with "malformed database" last weekend, I've been using Kobo Utilities to create a backup every day. How do I restore from that backup if needed? |

Where do I find these ZIPs? When I click on Kobo Utilities>Database>Backup Device Database it opens the standard file save dialog, asking me for both a filename and a destination directory. I've been giving them dates as names - 2023-12-31.sqlite, etc. |

Where you put them
![]() BTW no need to put a date, that happens automatically. I have 2 folders configured, 1 for each device I chose to put each of those in a Kobo folder in Documents ( made folders for Aura and Libra there) |

Sorry, I should haven clearer. I meant where are the ZIP files you mentioned stored? The screenshot shows what I mentioned above. Running the Utilities Database option generates an sqlite file, not a ZIP, and does not automatically name it, it prompts me for a name, without which it will not save. I have no ZIP files anywhere of the type you describe.

You have to actively set up the database backup and tell the plugin where to store the backup. If you didn't do that, you have no backup.

Now I'm confused. If you have the files, you can just copy them on your Kobo as "theducks" suggested.
