What does this [Kobo] database error mean?

I just connected my Sage and got "error connecting with device" again. When I ran Kobo Utilities database check, I got this:

Quote:
Result of running 'PRAGMA integrity_check' on database on the Kobo device:

Sorry for putting it in the wrong forum. I managed to get back up and running by logging out of my Kobo account and logging back in, but I have another, related question:

Since my first run-in with "malformed database" last weekend, I've been using Kobo Utilities to create a backup every day. How do I restore from that backup if needed?

You only need to copy the database file "KoboReader.sqlite" in the .kobo directory and eject the ereader. What you did with the loghout and login is, basically, wipe clean the database.

Thank you, that's what I thought most likely, but wanted to be absolutely sure.

Utilities backup of the DB Creates a date encoded Zip file (has serial#, then.date-time code
eg ... 29011-20240101-172231.zip
That ZIP is where you find the file @terisa mentions

Where do I find these ZIPs? When I click on Kobo Utilities>Database>Backup Device Database it opens the standard file save dialog, asking me for both a filename and a destination directory. I've been giving them dates as names - 2023-12-31.sqlite, etc.

Where you put them

BTW no need to put a date, that happens automatically.
I have 2 folders configured, 1 for each device
I chose to put each of those in a Kobo folder in Documents ( made folders for Aura and Libra there)

Sorry, I should haven clearer. I meant where are the ZIP files you mentioned stored? The screenshot shows what I mentioned above. Running the Utilities Database option generates an sqlite file, not a ZIP, and does not automatically name it, it prompts me for a name, without which it will not save. I have no ZIP files anywhere of the type you describe.

I assumed you used the utilities to backup. That is what zipped the devices .kobo folder. <you might need to tell Windows to show hidden files/folders. >
If you had not configured the PI on the screen shown, It should ask (as it seems it did)

Sorry, I'm clearly making some fundamental error of comprehension here. You say "I Assumed you use the utilities to backup". I am using the Kobo Utilities plugin in Calibre - is that not the "utilities" you mean? My Windows is set to show hidden files and folders (and extensions), and has been since XP

You have to actively set up the database backup and tell the plugin where to store the backup. If you didn't do that, you have no backup.

So the sqlite files I've been saving are not usable, even if I rename them to KoboReader.sqlite ?

Now I'm confused. If you have the files, you can just copy them on your Kobo as "theducks" suggested.

The file name you put back must be the same as what was THERE. (in the .kobo folder)
The backup name is for you to know what the file belonged to
