Transfering between libraries?

I just got a new laptop and I want to transfer my calibre library from one to the other. I tried the export/import all calibre data option but when I open the usb file where I did the export it says "no items match your search". It's the same story if I try "add books from a single folder" or "add from folders and sub-folders. Any thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated.

Just copy the whole library folder to a flash drive or an external drive, paste from there to your new computer and point Calibre to it (click on the Library icon -> Switch/create library -> Use a previously existing library...
Navigate to the location your library folder is and click OK).

Since you exported the library, you would need to import it on the new computer using the same Export/import all calibre data tool.
