Lost read/unread status, collections, annotations, etc

All that changed is I upgraded from Calibre 6 to 7 and the newest plugins for Kobotouch, kobotouchextended, etc.

But now all my books on Kobo show unread, annotations are not there. The actual collections are on the Kobo still but with incorrect book quantity - e.g. says there's only 1 book in the collection when there's several more.

Is there any way to restore my Kobo Forma to its previous state? Any ideas as how to prevent whatever happened from occurring again in the future?

I changed Manual to Automatic Management in Preferences --> Send to Device. This fixed the collections.

However, all books are still unread on my Kobo, whereas Calibre has the correct reading progress %. How can I sync the reading progress to Kobo? Also, any way to recover my annotations?

Ok, new update: I used "Store/restore current bookmark" and was able to get the reading positions set correctly on my Kobo. The only thing missing now is my annotations. Am I out of luck on recovering those?

Do you use Kobo Utilities to backup your database? If you do, you can restore the database before the calibre upgrade, reboot, and be good to go. You will have to plug in to calibre after to update the metadata of any eBook added after that database.

Thanks, I do. From there, what would be the best way to export all annotations made in Kobi to a consumable flat file that I can view on my Mac?
