Calibre 7.0 highlight toolbar color
This may sound trivial, but after updating to 7.0, the toolbar for scrolling and highlighting my books is now pink. I've tried going through the Preferences, notably Look & Feel but I see no option for changing it to something other than pink. Light blue has usually been the color.
PS: I'm running Windows 10. Thank you! Last edited by markpearl; 11-18-2023 at 03:38 PM. |

I don't understand what you mean by "the toolbar for scrolling and highlighting my books". It could be the book list or viewer.
Could you post a screen shot. BR |

In Light mode calibre 7.0 is using the Accent colour specified in Windows->Settings->Personalization->Colors.
But I don't why it changed, surprised its taken this long for anyone to notice the change. BR |

Many thanks! After prowling through all of Calibre's preferences, my next thought was to tinker with the Windows settings. I still can't understand why it went from the traditional blue to pink. But then I'm not a good tinkerer. ")
Cheers! |

I did notice it immediately, but didn't bother to post about it. There presumably isn't anything that could be done about it.

But this happened in v6.x, don't remember which exact version it happened in a month or so ago. |

So I looked where you suggested and that is what is ticked in the color grid and Accent is also ticked. I suspect a Windows Theme left remnants that just got used. |

I change my accent color and my wallpaper every couple of days (yeah, I get bored). I guess if I should ever have an accent color not suitable for highlighting, I can just change it for my calibre work and back again afterwards.

Oh, wait. I forgot I had the Portable Install version of v7 installed for testing. I guess that is when it happened. Gee how time flies, I installed that 26 Oct - 3 weeks ago, not last week like I imagined.

FTR: Nothing changed here, selected line in book list is still blue.
I have Windows set to Dark mode with Olive-green Accent, and calibre's Color palette set to System default. |

Seems only to affect Light Mode, then. I never use Dark Mode on anything, as I can't stand light text on dark background, my eyes get tired very quickly.

It's a Qt change. For whatever reason the updated Qt has started respecting that system color. In dark mode calibre specifies its own complete color scheme because the system colors did not work well, that is why it doesnt happen in dark mode.
