Problem with date (bug?)
Hi,
I have a little problem with date, and maybe I think there is a bug in the program. I have defined a custom field #dataori with the format "d MMM yyyy". If I enter a day on which daylight saving time is not in effect (e.g. 15 nov 2018), the date displayed is correct. But if I enter a day on which daylight saving time is in effect (e.g. 15 aug 2018), the date displayed is 14 aug 2018 (the day moves back by one unit!). Do you also experience the same thing? Thanks for your attention, Regards |

There are no dates in calibre, there are only timestamps, so while you can display/enter them as dates, under the hood they are stored as timestamps, when you enter as a date without a time, the time is chosen automaticaly and it might fall into a prev/next day depending on your local timezone.

Ok, kovidgoyal, I understand.
Not a big deal to me. I need that field to keep the publication date of the first edition of a book. Sometimes this date is known exactly (ex. 5 September 1999) and it is bad to then see 4 September 1999. However, I have noticed that if I re-edit the field by inserting the date again, it works. Thanks a lot for the clarification Luigi |
