Missing Gear

I waited through several updates to see the 'gear' for advanced search to no avail. It's a good thing I know where it's supposed to be. It would be nice if this little problem was fixed.

I see it properly on MacOS as well. Maybe you have a custom icon set that malfunctioned?

For what it's worth, I see it on Windows 11, MacOS 13.5, Windows 11 Preview, Suse Tumbleweed, Linux Mint, Ubuntu and Fedora (the last six are running as VMs on the Windows 11 machine).

It might help if the OP included OS/version/windows manager/etc.

And whatever is in Preferences->Look & Feel->Icon theme: and then try setting it to the Default icons theme.

Not sure what happens if a theme lacks an icon. I don't have a gear.png in my configuration overrides so the one in the install resources is used.

@madelonw - we can't see your fb page, use the MR attachment feature to post screenshots - it's the paper clip icon in Advanced mode.

A rather odd URL (http://https://) and when you use either the http or https alone, you get a message that the content is not available. I noticed that before heading out for the day so around 13:00 my time.

I've fixed the URL format. Not that that helps.

I checked the look and feel settings, as you suggested, my icons are set to Default. I use Calibre on my Windows 10 (all updates installed) Dell desktop. At least now I have a starting point to try and figure this out. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I tend to keep my applications as vanilla as possible. I have added a number of my own columns.

I tried changing to a different icon set, restarted Calibre, and voila the gear appeared but the icon set looks the same. I don't really want to change the icons, but I figured trying to do so would trigger the gear. It did.
