				Google Drive!

Low and behold I saw it added today. So I checked it out and it's a bit mixed. PDF's seem to work fine Mobi seems to work fine doc and docx don't seem to work at all?!? Excel (calc) nothing Maybe it's me but it would be a great to modify some of this in google docs. I still have to test the back and forth if it can add material as that would be a huge gain. I mean I guess it's good but generally if you want a document to go back and forth you don't automatically put it as pdf. Now if it's just one way notes that might be good. |

Google Drive is intended to work like Dropbox as a cloud repository for ebooks you can access on your Kobo. So only Kobo supported ebook formats will work. Books: EPUB, EPUB2, EPUB3 (Note: Kobo Original and Kobo Wi Fi does not support EPUB3), PDF, FlePub and MOBI Documents: PDF Images: JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, and TIFF Text: TXT, HTML, and RTF Comic Books: CBZ and CBR Google Drive works like an online method to sideload books. You won’t have access to the Google suite of editing apps, etc. |

Ok, I see it now. I usually don't allow Kobo to update because it erases all the books I have on the device and replaces them with the ones from Dropbox, which it did this time as well, but at least I now have GD.

You do have something very odd going on. When you next do an update, keep WiFi off. Firmware updates do not wipe-out your eBooks on a Kobo.

The update doesn't but the so-called syncing does, and during the update it also syncs.

The export to Google Drive on the original Elisa doesn't seem to work. It takes a long time to upload, even more than it did with Dropbox, and the uploaded file often is 0-bytes or truncated/damaged so that it can not be opened by regular PDF readers. Hopefully they'll fix this - I was pretty happy the Google Drive option came out as I no longer wanted to 'freeload' on Dropbox but this is disappointing.

Posted a request to enable Google drive on a Libra 2 but realized that it would not work through the classic menu anyway.
