White on white possible with Calibre?

I have embedded the page numbers of the physical book close to the location in the ebook. I create e.g. #431 for page 431. A search of "#431" takes the reader close to the corresponding page in the ebook - so the INDEX still works. I then change the text to white on white so it is invisible but found in a search. Calibre has changed them all to blue on white! Is there a way to stop it?

Embedding colors in an ebook is a bad idea, if you mean to publish the book. What if your readers use the dark mode on their reader or in the app? Or do you mean you're doing this only for yourself?

How have you added this to the ebook? Is it in with your normal <p></p> paragraphs, or some other code?

And when you Search, are you searching in an ereader, or searching the xhtml files using an editor?

You probably made them into an anchor ( <a id=... )
You need to STYLE (in the CSS) them with those colors.

BTW This is a Calibre Q, I will ask it be moved.
