failed: Failed to open the book at....

Hello everybody,

(this is my first post in english, sorry for my mistakes)

I have an error when I try to open one of my ebook. I'm very sad because I have collect all these ebooks for many years.

Every ebook have a "weight" so I think there are not empty.

This is the error I have :

Your eBook is corrupt. I suggest you download it again from where it is you got it in the first place.

Those file show as corrupt.
EPUB is a Zip that follows certain rules.
That error says it is not a EPUB and possibly not even zipped.
(Ya can't just rename the extension to EPUB.)
You might try and change ONE of those books extension to ZIP and see if it will open (as a folder) in windows. If so, you might be able to rename those books to ZIP and add those to Calibre

That won't work as they are not valid ZIP files. The worst case is the hard drive is failing and the data is getting corrupted.

The real question is, were these ever valid ePub in the first place?
