Hide System Fonts feature (make system fonts toggable)?

I was perusing the source code for KOReader a little bit and I stumbled on this feature: https://github.com/koreader/koreader/pull/5670

I'm not up-to-speed on github and branching enough to figure out if this feature was actually ever fully implemented. If so, what is the mechanism of enabling/disabling system fonts?

As mentioned in the comments for the feature, I'm also looking at a way to avoid having 15 pages of Noto fonts in every language imaginable... would be nice to have some sort of filter...

EDIT: It does look like this feature is in the official release: https://github.com/koreader/koreader...s/tag/v2019.12, but I guess I can't find the toggle switch to turn system fonts on and off... can someone help me find that?

OK - I found the toggle. You have to go to the very first page of fonts and then there is a menu option called "Font Settings" - from there you can get to a submenu with "Enable System Fonts" and a couple other options...

Edit: And it works well! No longer have 30 pages of fonts to wade through to try a new font. Very happy...

Disabled system fonts should be the default behaviour everywhere, IIRC

I don't have "Enable System Fonts" option. KOreader last nightly. How come?

Kobo has obfuscated fonts. Kindle no idea

As far as I can see it's present in the Android version of KOReader but not in the Kobo version.

It is available only:
if Device:isAndroid() or Device:isDesktop() or Device:isEmulator() or Device:isPocketBook()

Note that we have some custom shenanigans going on on Kindle that will effectively blacklist a large swathe of the system fonts, without asking you about it
