Maybe some reading software does it, but it would have to use some server.
That means that you'd have to leave WiFi on. Ok, you could come up with a solution which synchronized over a USB connection. Still, that's also a bit cumbersome. Then there is the question of what kind of data is used for position. It's all different between different reader software. If you stick to one software you're ok treating reading position as an opaque blob. For instance, on my current book I'm on page 75, that is "chapter6.xhtml#point(/1/4/2/28/3:208)". The numbers represent HTML nodes. |

According to Onyx Boox support on Reddit they can't do it.
The simplest way that I can think of is to use Koreader on all devices. It has a feature called progress sync that does just that. Onyx saves all info in a database, so that means either extracting and syncing and importing into the databases, with the hassle of checking for latest info.., Yes, it could work with a small script that maintains a file with the info and timestamp and syncronizes it with the database and for instance Syncthing to synchronize those files over the internet. So you would be setting up three(!) sync's. Looks like a perfect way to introduce errors to me. If you don't like Koreader, I saw other apps being thrown into the mix on Reddit, a.o. MoonReader, ReadEra. |

From firmware version 3.3 changelog:
Code:
Library and NeoReader: Reading data, including progress, annotation, highlight, and handwritten notes, can be synced across devices via Onyx Cloud. |

it's very simple! I transfer the files from the computer to the ebook reader via Calibre and Calibre Companion and then I synchronize the same folder where the ebooks are between the two devices through an app like FolderSync (it is compatible with Google Drive, Onedrive or Dropbox etc.). Since I only use pdf files and these pdf files integrate the notes taken by hand, by synchronizing this type of file I can also synchronize all the notes, highlights etc.
Using this approach the only thing you have to remember each time, before turning off the device, is to turn on the wifi and do the synchronization, otherwise the notes taken on one device will not be synchronized with the other. I have also included a shortcut in the Edge Gestures app to be able to sync via Foldersync by simply swiping on the edge of the screen Last edited by cicabum; 09-29-2022 at 04:30 PM. |

I hope that it will be possible not only to do synchronization of notes taken on "Note Calendar," but also that the calendar will be visible through the browser. The development of this app is still lagging behind.

I have not been able to get reading progress to sync automatically and only by manually syncing inside the reader. Does anyone else had the pleasure of having it done automaticially_

It would be really nice to have it sync automatically, but for now it appears that you must tap on the cloud icon to save your progress. Perhaps a future update will address this.

I see that this thread is still relevant.
![]() The link to reddit for note-transfer in my previous post is obsolete, though. All the handwritten notes are prefectly synced across the devices for me. However, those inside pdf-files are not. I am trying to get pdf-files both with scribbles and text-notes from my Note Pro v.3.2.3 to my Note 5 v.3.3.1. So far I have been able to export the scribbles to pdf. However, the text-notes are reduced to underlined text, no notes. It's maddening. ![]() @Renate Do you remember the location of the database file? Can't find the relevant thread in which you posted that info. Anyone know whether the database has changed architecture between firmware versions 3.2.3 and 3.3.1? |
