Mark marked and not marked books

Very often i want to mark books.
I search for "foo"; then i mark them.
I search for "haha"; no i get amrked and unmarked books.

It would be perfect to have a shortcut to say: "just mark everything!"

Add the mark books button to the toolbar then you can clear all marked and then mark to mark all the current results.

Mark does not clear previous marks. (there is a context menu item to clear all marked as well as others)
OTOH Including a previously marked book, in another (group) Mark, will invert that mark .

So it does. Explains the occasional: "WTF, I thought I'd marked that" events that I've put down to GSD (Galloping Synaptic Decay).

I think I'd rather it didn't. But that would make multi-book and single-book marking inconsistent and I do like the fact that Ctrl+M is a toggle.

You can use "mark with text label True" to mark all the books in a selection. This won't toggle. On the other hand, if you use marking with some other text label then marking with "true" will change the mark to a generic one.

Another option is to set a shortcut for "Clear marks for selected books". When you select books you use that first to clear the marks. Then use the toggle to set the mark on all the selected books.

Thanks for the tips

Just noticed this: if the current list includes books that are marked, then the list row number space will be wider even if the marked books are not visible. Perhaps the top left corner cell could be decorated with marked.png if there are any marked books in the current list.

And, thanks for the upcoming Manage Cats tool, pity about the Apply Cats option. Bloody things never do what's expected of them… cats that is

I find cats to be very predictable. They do the opposite of what you want them to do.
