Do I need to update my software

Hi everyone :

I've just bought my PRS-505 Sony Reader , it came with firmware version 1.2.00.18050 , do I need to update it , what is the exact no. of the latest version ?
I'm having problems with viewing some of the PDF books , I can't increase the font size , it is so small for reading , what puzzling me , is that it is happening with only two of my PDF books , the other work ok , is it because they are secured PDF ??

No you have a UK 505 and that is the last firmware.

The reader is seeing those PDF's as image PDF's (not text ones), and thus when you zoom it does not reflow the text (because it can not or because it thinks it's an image and not text).

You can increase the reading of those PDF's by trying to read them in landscape: press the zoom button and maintain the finger there until it turns the screen into landscape.
It splits the page in 2 half’s so making the "image" more readable (bigger letters).

Version 1.2.00.18050 must be the latest UK firmware because my US Reader firmware is 1.1.00.18040 which is the latest on Sony's website.

Actually, there is FW 1.3 French version. It has some little difference structures from the US 1.1 and UK 1.2.
Some People here in Dev Corner are working on it.
