How to enter in Debug mode

I wish to enter Calibre in Debug mode, not via terminal, but inside Calibre.
I tried to right-click "Preferences" but nothing happen...

Anyone please may tell me how to do it?

Thanks!

Are you running either a Linux 'distro' version or a reeeeely old Calibre (1.x)?
I ask, because that was added a long time ago, so you would not need to use the CLI argument to start.

No, I'm running Calibre 5.44.

When you right-click on the Preferences button in the toolbar, a menu should be displayed. One of the options on the menu should be "Restart in debug mode". Or, there should be an arrow on the right side of the button. Clicking that should show the same menu. Or the shortcut should be ctrl+shift+r.

But, if you are running from source, or running calibre-debug, these options will not be shown as you are already in debug mode.
