See in Store

5.14.2 firmware

I just noticed that See in Store does not work now. If I select a book from my library and bring up the context menu and choose See in Store I get the header saying Book Details but the rest of the page is blank. Can someone else confirm this? I noticed this late last night and I assumed it was just tied to server maintenance during the overnight but it has continued during day today.

Might this have something to do with the new firmware 5.14.3 having something called Quick View which appears will do the same as See in Store without going to the store (or so the change log implies).

I am seeing the same thing on my Oasis running 5.14.2 firmware.

Same on my PW3, and 5.14.3 didn't fix it.
Besides, I have another PW3 with 5.13.3 firmware, still has this issue, maybe it's a bug of Amazon Server?

With this new Quick View in 5.14.3 are you able to see the book details? If so, I'm surprised they would leave a non-working See in Store entry in the context menu.

I really don't want to break down and download 5.14.3 yet if I don't have to.

This is particularly annoying given Amazon's fight with Google has led to the loss of the ability to buy Kindle books in Amazon's phone app. Now it seems we often can't buy them from the Kindle either. Do Amazon actually want people to buy books any more?

I don't know the details of it, but in the new 5.14.3 firmware there is a new store experience, code named Bacchus, that Amazon can remotely enable. (Perhaps wine and book pairings

).

I wonder if the See in Store glitch has something to do with that.

Seems like it is something on server side, if it is happening with 5.14.2 also (I’m certain it USED TO work with 5.14.2).

When I checked this just now, it said ‘updating your store experience’ and then displayed nothing. I don’t get that message when I try again.

(The ‘updating your store experience’ message frequently happens just going to the Kindle Store on Kindle. It’s just updating some local data I think.)
