Fixing "broken" EPUB/KEPUB during conversion?
Hey guys!

I sometimes down fanfiction from Archive of our Own, however the EPUB seems to be broken. Whenever I finish a chapter and turn the page, it will actually go backwards to the previous chapter

I'm wondering if this is anything I can fix this during conversion - like some clean-up function?

Use the Calibre editor and have a look at the code. Then you'll most likely have to clean it up by hand.

The questions that come to mind are:
  • How do you download the book? Using FanFicFare, or does Archive of Our Own generate the epubs? Or some other method?
  • Where are you reading the books? As you mention kepub, I assume that means a Kobo device. Have you tried anything else?
  • How are you creating the kepubs? A conversion or the KoboTouchExtended driver.

But, as @JSWolf suggests, use the editor to check for any issues in the book before converting.

As Jon says. BY HAND

The Autofix (Try and Fix') is a best guess for that error, so unless the individual (error item) solutions make logical sense...

Really malformed code (it ma be a simple tag typo to start) may have a even worse auto solution

I call it 'Sanity checking' the code
