Linux vs MacOS (Cover issues)

I have both a macos device and a chromebook with linux installed. I am able to convert books to my Kindle using calibre on the mac and get the covers to work with no issue, however, on the linux version, it wont work. I've tried both azw and mobi files - and tried the disconnect/reconnect to no avail. Any thoughts as to what the difference is on the Linux version???

i recently updated it to the newest version 5.39.1. It definitely doesnt look quite like the version on MacOS but supposedly it says im using the most recent.

Is everything configured in the same way? Do you have the same plugins and settings? Maybe they are outdated or in some way not updated? Check these out and we might figure something out.
