Synchronization of bookmarks, notes etc.
Hi,
I know it is still not possible to link Calibre to a Server (or is it possible already?) but I was wondering. Let me explain what I do and what I need, let me tell you a story ![]() I have a Server at home with contains all my books. I have a laptop and when I am at work I download the book import it to my local installation of calibre and start reading. While reading I put in notes, I mark certain text passages etc. Now I change from the laptop to my tablet and continue reading by doing the same steps as above but for obvious reasons I am missing my previous notes and on the server both additions from Laptop and Tablet. Is there a way right now to synchronize this? Cheers and enjoy your weekend! |

3 Calibres is not a great way to work with a single book.
![]() ![]() For off line use, just download a copy and use a viewer app (annotations will not be 2 way or possible with 3rd party aps) |

But in the end it means I just should use the browser to read my books remotely (as I have calibre run as a service and made it accessible via Caddy)? I just saw that I can annotate in Firefox as well. Hmmmm, okay one solution. Thanks ![]() |

FWIW I used to use Calibre Companion on my TabA to manage my 'take with me' books.
As many know, support has turned into a disaster, so I tried a different way. I just used the browser on the TAB, to choose a book from my server, and used the Download button instead of the Read button. Read expects the connection to stay and uses the viewer that is part of the Server web page. Download pulls the whole book for local (offline) viewing. In my case I open the download with Moon+ |
