Did I get a bad unit?

Got my Libra H2O last month. Have been loving it so far.

But in the last week or thereabouts I've been having issue with it. First it was a minor database issue fixed by a compress. Then repeated 'scan and fix' errors. Yesterday it briefly stopped saving reading positions until I rebooted. And now I just got a disk i/o error when connecting to Calibre and when I ejected it dragged me back to the initial setup screen.

This is giving me nightmares of the last month or so of using my dying Aura HD and now I'm wondering if I might've gotten a dodgy unit. Thoughts?

I'm going to reset the database; check integrity's always come up clean but perhaps something got mucked up in there. Thankfully I figured out how to copy the reading stats over.

Would it be worth a try to downgrade back to 4.30? (And how would I go about that?)

I've gotten scan & fix errors often with both the Libra H2O and Libra 2. I just ignore them. Seems to be a harmless bug. The forgetting and disk errors may be the result of the latest firmware.

As to downgrading, download the previous firmware from https://pgaskin.net/KoboStuff/kobofirmware.html
extract the contents to the .kobo folder and eject.

I'm almost afraid to post this in case I jinx things, but I think reverting the firmware did fix it. Even those recurring sync & fix messages have gone away.

I've had similar problems with my Libra 2, including being kicked back to the "Choose your language" setup screen. I'm on the latest firmware, as well. I suspect it's a general software / firmware problem, and not that either of us have a bad unit.

By the way, I get the "scan and fix" error every time I plug in either my Kobo Clara HD or my Kobo Libra 2; no errors are ever found.
