Loading files onto PocketBook HD3

I just received a PocketBook HD3 Copper for Christmas. At first I was thrilled. It's a well designed device, a little slow but otherwise had everything I wanted. Until I tried to actually READ something. I can't seem to get files onto it. I tried loading ePubs to the PocketBook Cloud, but after watching the spinning wheel for two hours I gave up. I haven't tried DropBox yet. The device is supposed to have a 16GB memory, but PB only gives you 2GB for cloud storage. What do you do with the rest? And I can't even get that to work. I want to try Calibre. I'm hoping somebody can tell me how to get the software (on my iMac or MacBook Pro) to recognize the HD3. Or if not, tell me if there is any way to load books onto it without having to upload them to a cloud. I have a couple of weeks to send this back if I can't get it to work in a way I'm happy with. So that's my window. Many thanks in advance.

OK, ignore the above post. I still can't get my HD3 to work with my iMac, but it seems to work just fine with my MacBook Pro. So, everything is fine, and I'm sorry to have wasted your time. Though, I still haven't tried to connect the device to Calibre, so if you have any pointers, I'd love to hear them.

Unfortunately I don't have a Mac (so don't know anything specifically about that platform), but with Linux it's just a matter of installing and running Calibre and plugging in a USB cable. From there you just "Send to Device."

I've also had issues with books taking forever to load on the PocketBook Cloud. Once they're there, they sync quickly to your PocketBook, but getting them there is the issue (as you've seen). If you're buying ePubs (or borrowing them from Overdrive) you can send the .ASCM file directly to the PocketBook via "Send-to-PocketBook." From there the PocketBook will download the book from the Adobe Server (or wherever they come from). I'm guessing DropBox would work fairly well, though I haven't tried it yet.
