Panettone: Food of the gods or wacky Italian raisin bread?
It's that time of the year, when even the god-forsaken parts of the globe get a whiff of heaven. The Family Dollar here (FD is one of the cheapest retail chains in the US) is selling the Bauducco brand of panettone. Bauducco comes out of Brazil and is presumably cheaper than any Italian export. Still, their product is commendable.
So, what do y'all think of this gumdrop-shaped loaf of bread? Last edited by Renate; 12-21-2021 at 07:31 PM. Reason: Speling |

I think your spell checker needs some work. Panettone (double t, single n) not panetonne (single t, double n).
I prefer it to be served with a crema di mascarpone made with a hefty amount of amaretto. |

I love Panettone and Colomba at Easter time.
My two ways of eating them... 1. Ice cream sandwich- two slices of Panettone with a nice thick layer of ice-cream in between. Preferably coffee flavoured. 2. Torn up bits of Panettone in a bowl with milk and coffee, like a breakfast cereal. |
