Kobo Glo won't turn on - options

Hi all, first post so bear with me: After many years of service, my Kobo Glo has died. I get a black screen with a couple of symbols on it, one is the circular arrow that normally means 'refresh'. It had been working about 20 mins earlier, then I put it into sleep mode and this is what I got when trying to wake it up.

Have tried:
- power off then on - hold power switch over to the right for 15 seconds, then switch on again.
- factory reset - power off as above, then hold light button down while powering on again. The Glo says 'restoring' then gets to a screen suggesting you connect to a computer via USB. I've done this using my PC with Kobo Desktop running but nothing happens. Seems like the PC can't see the Kobo at all (it was working last week).
Took the back off, unplugged the batter for 10 - 15 minutes, also reseated the SD card. Put everything back and restarted - no change.

So, where to go now? Is it worth trying to reinstall the Image on the SD card? Does anyone even have a image for the Glo now. New battery? Or just go with a new model? I do like to repair technology when I can
