multiple epub files are zip errors

I have over 4500 books in my calibre library. Some of them have errors - most missing epub files - the epub file is there, but it shows that there a missing zip file.

What I would like to do is find all of those books that think the file is missing and delete the books.

Is there anyway to do this? Opening each book to see if the actual book opens would take me at lease a month - time which I can't spend.

If you have a solution, please write it so the directions are easy to follow. I did see one posr about a simular problem, but the directions were confusing to me - plus it talked about menu items I never could find.

Thanks in advance,
Judy

1. viewing your post
2. hit the "!" in the lower part of your post (Report Post)
3. Ask the mod to move your post to the Calibre section

Edit: I originally had the following, but realized it was bad advice, as it would be cross posting. However, in the future, probably best to start a post in the Calibre section if you are using Calibre.

1. Find the Calibre section
2. Post your question there

Good luck.

First make a copy of your calibre library--use this to make your fixes.

Then go to:
https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/faq...libre-is-blank

You want to do the second option:
Quote:
Your metadata.db file was deleted/corrupted. In this case, you can ask calibre to rebuild the metadata.db from its backups. Right click the calibre icon in the calibre toolbar and select Library maintenance->Restore database. calibre will automatically rebuild metadata.db.
If that fixes your library or not then let us know.
