Error converting Kindle to PDF, AZW3, etc. Small words and lots of spaces

Greetings from Brazil.
I found many comments for using Calibre so I'm trying it.

One of the books I have in my PC amazon reader I want to convert for PDF because it's size, near 580 pages Letter size (really big) with more than 330 photos too and the Azw file is some 56Mb.

Sadly the printed version was very limited and is no longer available, I tried contacting the author but he says has no plan for another edition.
It's a copyrighted book and I know the author, so for sure this is really for private use.

My setup:
PC computer, Intel Core I5, 16Gb RAM, two 2Tb HDs running Windows 7 Ultimate.

Calibre takes near 30 hours working, RAM usage goes to the maximum and the result appears really strange, I tried PDF and AZW3 output with the same results. I also tried Docx but after more than 40 hours I canceled the work as it still was at 67% only.

The attached image show what we see. Appears gibberish at first, but an extreme Zoom in the PDF Adobe reader shows the words are there, but very little and with a lot of spaces. The blue squares appear only in the PDF, the AZW3 shows the same very small text, but not the squares.

Also, as I found another "gibberish" problem in this forum, I tried to edit the generated AZW3, but there's no TTFs nor something else, just the same as we see in the code bellow. I observed the .CSS também, just confirm Calibre found each word to be something different and generate such thing.


I did not find the option to upload one of the generated Html from the work areas, so I will just copy part of that, and we see the generated code is really strange, with a new "style" for every word.

No idea if this has a solution.

This will almost certainly be a fixed layout ebook. These are not supported in calibre, dependingon just how badly fixed th e"fixed layout" is you may get less or more useable output from conversion.
