There does seem to be a limit of about 1000 books per collection.

I believe the limitation is only on Kindle devices. The Kindle apps can show more.

I cannot be certain (I don’t have any collections nearly this large to check any more) but I think you can still add/remove individual books from a collection, you just cannot list all of the books in a collection on your Kindle if it has more than 1000 books in it.

Also performance in adding/removing on Kindle is pretty bad once you get above several hundred books in it (unless they have fixed this in the recent updates). It can take a minute or more.

Having a collection this large seems a bit excessive to me. The typical application of collections is to group books into smaller similar themed books or series. I'm not sure what the purpose of applying it to that many books would be unless you had literally tens of thousands of books and extremely broad categories that need to be categorized. I'm unsure if a 8gb kindle would hold that many books. I suppose if you had a 32gb kindle, this would apply, but the real world need seems pretty narrow for this use case. Seems like just doing a search for a book/author would be easier.

Anyways, this is just a comment and not helpful to the issue, of course. As someone else mentioned above, after doing some googling myself, it looks like the limit for a collection appears to be around 1000 books.

Спасибо за информацию . У меня Kindle 32 GB , предпочитаю библиотеку , а это 20-25 тысяч книг , держать под рукой . Так как с коллекциями ничего не выходит , сделал себе списки авторов по отдельним коллекциям и нужную книгу найду из списка авторов нужной коллекции .
