Hi, everyone!
First of all, I want to thank the fantastic job that you provide with such an amazing Sigil application. I use it since a long time (maybe around 2011), and I have always love it ever since. I want to suggest three ideas to add to next release of Sigil, if possible: 1. Make the reports tool a non-modal window, so I can review the classes not used and to be deleted, for example, and keep working on the editing window. Opening the reports tools to check one item, then close it and edit whatever it is needed, then reopen the reports tool, etc. is not very efficient. 2. Make the Saved searches… window be able to dock on the left panel (or right one, of course), so it can kept always open when in need. 3. Make some keyboard shortcuts to trigger individual saved searches, so it is not needed to open the window with mouse so many times when editing just to start a saved search. (I'm aware of the shortcut Alt+Ctrl+F to open the Saved searches… window). I hope these ideas are worth looking at them an d can be implemented in the sort term ;D Last edited by celiapgt; 07-29-2021 at 10:29 PM. Reason: Better appearance and minor editing of phrases |

The reports tool is non-modal which is why it needs a refresh button in case you delete or change things using other editing tools while it is open.
Saved Searches is also non-modal and you can already assign a keyboard short cut to Saved Searches. Since neither are modal, simply leave them up, no need to dock either of them. Just refresh them when needed. BTW, some reports support deleting right in the report itself. Last edited by KevinH; 07-29-2021 at 11:06 PM. |
