Nova 3 Color ugly system font

Does anyone know how to get rid of this (sample attached) system font that, apart from being ugly, is hard to read and sometimes even interferes in books? It looks like some pre-set font and I have no idea how to change it.

It's part of the whiten app background optimization. Long press on the app icon and click optimize then uncheck whiten app background. You can also add optimization settings to the navigation ball to get at it faster.

You can't really tell from a JPEG, but the "optimizations" screw up the normal black on white text too.
It gives them a goofy halo.
(It's better to post PNGs.)

Hi, i have the same issue with the font, but I have no idea what @salamanderjuice meant with "uncheck whiten app background" as that is not an option on my Nova 3 Color

I suspect that it may depend on what firmware version you are running. My Nova 3 Color is running V3.2 and it does not have that option under optimizations. Instead, there are a lot of other display options which one can fiddle with.

My Note Pro is running V3.1 and it has the option about whitening an app's background in the optimizations settings. If that option is checked, then one gets the font issue which the OP was writing about.

As for myself, I don't seem to have that font issue on my N3C. So you may want to check what version of the firmware you are on and/or try tweaking some of the options in the optimizations settings.
