Calibre book details
First of all, Hi - I couldn't figure out how to use the introduction section.
I use Calibre for my e-books and I was wondering if I'm able to add details or a synopsis of a book that are not there already.
Most books have this feature in Calibre but some don't. I've looked through all the bits and pieces in calibre and on YT but cannot find how I can do this, that is if it can be done at all. Am I able to?

Right click the add books button and choose "add empty book"

Thank you for the reply but this doesn't appear to work. There are other options after choosing "Add empty book" ('Book entry with no formats') and then the next pop-up doesn't say where I can add a synopsis. Choosing any of those options creates an 'empty book'. Very confusing.

Add the synopsis to the empty book by using the edit metadata button.

Press the "OK" button to create the book. Then open the metadata editor for the book. That has a field called "Comments". This is usually used for the synopsis. If you are adding an ebook with metadata containing a synopsis, it will be put into this field.

You gave me the general idea of right-clicking - it was just a matter of where...
I discovered...

Right click in the space in the right hand pane (where most details about a book are)
Click on 'Open the book details window'
Right click on the right hand pane again
Choose 'Open the edit metadata window
and there you can add the details of the book.

I found another way to get there...

And I just select the book in the list and press the "Edit metadata" icon in the toolbar.
