Onyx Boox Poke Pro reset password
Hello,
I have forgotten my Onyx Boox Poke Pro password. Unfortunately, I did not create an account. How can I reset the ebook? |

If your device was rooted you could go into /data/system/users/0/settings_secure.xml and set lockscreen.disabled to 1.
Or you could "adb reboot recovery" and wipe your device. (You'd lose everything though.) Or under Android stock settings > System > Advanced > Reset Options > Erase all data (You'd lose everything though.) To get to Android stock settings: "adb shell am start -n com.android.settings/.Settings" |

my device was not rooted.
are suggestions two and three for unrooted devices? I am with the two suggestions a little unsure what I should do. 1) install adb and then goto recovery mode? https://www.maketecheasier.com/common-adb-commands/ 2) this only works if i know my password or the device is rooted or not? |

Option 2 will get you to the recovery menu (without root).
To get to the next selection either close/open the magnetic cover or insert/remove USB cable. Power button selects option. |

unfortunately, he cannot find a device.
On the internet I find some posts in which it says that usb debugging must be enabled. ./adb devices * daemon not running; starting now at tcp:5037 * daemon started successfully List of devices attached so 1) only for rooted devices and 2) only for devices with usb debugging enabled |

i have tried to update the driver like in this post:
https://visualgdb.com/KB/usbdebug-manual/ but after step 12 "Enter the path to the Google USB driver. Normally it is located in the following directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\extras\google\usb_driver" i get this error: ![]() |

You can enter recovery mode with turned off device and connected to USB charger. I don't know which buttons your poke Pro has got. So it differs from device to device which button you have to press and hold when connecting to USB. Power button?
You haven't enabled adb in Developer options on your device before you got locked, therefore the adb option will not work. Last edited by yokos; 07-11-2021 at 11:41 AM. |

Getting into bootloader and recovery is bad enough on devices with lots of buttons.
I don't know the Poke Pro, but the Poke3 only has power switch and the Hall effect sensor for the magnetic cover. In worst case EDL mode can fix whatever is broken but it will take some expertise. |
