metadata search criteria too long

Got my book from Amazon; have problem in the metadata download.

Popup says the "search text" is too long. I think that the when Calibre does the search it uses the title as the search criteria so I guess I can edit the title & re-edit back before the metadata is saved?

Or is there a way to just expand how the metadata is downloaded?

i.e. book is: "Grimoires and Where to Find Them (The Case Files of Henri Davenforth Book 6)"

Better to truncate the stuff within the parenthesis?

suggestions welcome.

I would edit the title to be Grimoires and Where to Find Them deleting the series information. Why Amazon has this love for placing the series and genre information in the title? Ghod alone knows.

Because Kindles don't support series metadata.

I thought the latest firmware and some karma from the Amazon server ghods would enable series information in a Kindle library. Add in the cover image as the screensaver and it's what most other ereaders have done for a decade.

I created a Custom Column: #subtitle << not needed in this case

Also Move the Series and Index to their proper place, Series: series name [6]

This issue is because over 10 years of mainstream e-readers, Series is still not a universal metadata field (most implementations are proprietary )

Yes, but older models still don't support it. So I imagine Amazon is not in a hurry to change the titles, as those users would have no way to determine the series order on their devices. But of course that's pure speculation on my part.
