Hi from Miami

Hello to you all from Miami. Currently the only e-book reading I do is on my Palm, but I'm looking at the Sony ebook readers because I like that they handle PDF files more ably than kindle (according to what I've read anyway).

I probably won't be getting one for Christmas, but perhaps after the new year.

I appreciate this forum and all the shared knowledge it contains.

Hi Jeff and welcome to the Forum. I was in the exact same category last year. I was hoping for a gift certificate that I could turn into a Sony Reader but when that didn't materialize, I walked into the SonyStyle Store ready to pay full price when, to my delight, the clerk informed me they had three 505's that had been window displays and I could buy one for $170. Four hours later I was happily reading away.

I've had it going on a year now and am still delighted with it.

Welcome jeff. I'd suggest you actually lay eyes on one of your typical PDFs before buying anything for PDF viewing. I'm not saying it's bad just you should look before buying. Most PDFs are too small for my old eyes.
