Deleting items directly from Kindle?

Is there a way to directly delete content from the Kindle? There must be, but I'm not finding it anywhere...

From your home page, click on "menu", then choose "content manager" Put and "x" in each book you want deleted, then hit 'menu' again. click on "remove selected items" The box will prompt you to either cancel or 'okay'.

The books will be gone from your home page.

You'll find this and lots of other helpful info in the downloaded Kindle guide, and the paper 'About your Kindle" guide that was in the box.

Hit the Home key to see books.

Hit the scroll button and pick Content Manager.

You will now see the same list of books, but with little boxes after them.

Scroll up to the item or items you want to delete, hit the scroll button. That will put an X in the boxes.

Hit scroll button again, & on the menu to go Remove Selected Items.

Follow the prompts and books will be deleted.

Then hit the Back button to return to the list of books.

If you want, hit Back again to return to the page you were reading.

Just as a precaution, if you are reading a book, put a bookmark on that page before starting this procedure.
