Poke3; neoreader, where are the annotations stored?
Hi all, so I've found how to export annotations for a specific book, from within the neoreader.
But what I am looking for is how/where the annotations are stored . Like a folder or database? [[my goal is to convert my previous kobo annotations to boox format and import them]] I can't seem to find it when connected via usb. Is this because the device is not rooted? |

Code:
/data/data/com.onyx.android.note/databases Last edited by yokos; 03-11-2021 at 08:18 AM. |

The closest path I could find is:
Code:
This PC\Poke3\Internal shared storage\Android\data Code:
com.onyx.android.note Code:
com.onyx (exporting a backup db via the app is not what I'm looking for - though I can't find that either) |

You won't be able to access this folder via MTP connection. You'll have to use the adb shell or install something like root explorer on the Boox device and copy it the file to the regularly accessible part of the SD.

it's been a while,
I've installed root explorer, and have access to /data/data/, but sadly there is no folder called com.onyx.android.note or similar. there are onyx folders, but I dont see a database. {{I've made notes / hightlights on epub and pdf's, and am able to export them individually to txt files. However there is no import function, so this mechanism is a dead end. hence the search for the database.}} |

/data/data/com.onyx.android.note is for the "Notes" application which is only on Onyx things with styluses.
/data/data/com.onyx.kreader/databases is where the "NeoReader" a/k/a kreader stores the annotations. I haven't looked into it closer (because I don't use it) but it seems it uses a database for each annotated book. Also, it doesn't look like the Poke3 includes sqlite3 so you'll have to do your database poking on your desktop or install sqlite3 on your Poke3. |
