Catalog in xml and html [calibre2opds]

Hi from Germany,

creating a catalog always results in xml and html files - though I think, that only html files are necessary to represent the catalog on the web

Am I wrong and if not, what is the reason for xml files? Could they be deleted after creating the catalog?

What catalog? Library catalogs in calibre can be created in various formats, CSV, BIB, XML, EPUB, MOBI

The html files are used when using a web browser.

The xml files are used if you are using an app which uses OPDS catalogues.

thanks for reply - can I avoid that calibre2opds create *.xml and *.xls files which are not necessary for me? I only use the catalog within a browser..

Or have I to delete the *.xls and *.xml files manually after catalog has been created?

Or have I to tick the box: "Don't create OPDS Catalog"?

Tick this option and the xml files shouldn’t be created.
