Creaky Libra H2O?

Received a Kobo Libra H2O from Walmart today.

It was "new" but I'm not sure if it was. It weirdly almost seemed repackaged?

ANYWAY - this Libra H2O I received today creaks! If you push in the back, there is a ton of give and it makes an incredibly loud creak sound.

Anyone else have that issue?

It's disappointing, because this is the second Libra H2O that I've ordered. The first was a refurbished unit from Ebay that had a frontlight that didn't stay consistent - about every five seconds, it would "pulse" a little brighter than go back to the level you set it at. I had headaches after using it a couple of times and asked my wife if she saw the light level pulsing.

Contrary to the one I have in front of me right now, the back felt solid and didn't give at all, and especially didn't creak.

I've had many different ereaders. Lots of Kindle devices. An Onyx Boox. It's frustrating to want to support a company and I've just had some horrible luck with their devices. Maybe the third time's the charm?

Try getting one from Indigo/Chapters/Coles.

I have a Libra and mine does not do that. Return it to Walmart and get one either from the Kobo Website or from Chapters/Indigo. I got mine from the Kobo Website and it is fine.

Or since he is still within the return/exchange period, get another one from Walmart.

Yep, I definitely have already returned it Ended up placing another order on the Walmart website.

I'm located in the United States so no Indigo/Chapters/Coles for me

I was about to order it on the Kobo website but hearing some things around long shipping times and sometimes hard to reach customer service for returns. While I dislike Walmart, at least returns are quick and shipping is as well.

It came in a plastic bag, not even a bubble mailer. So not kind of shock absorption. And since the actual Libra H20 isn't protected very well in the box, I think it was probably crushed with larger packages during the shipment.

I forgot to mention that I took a quick video of the sound. If you want to hear a creaky Libra, take a listen below:

Indigo/Chapters ship to the states. Some people in the states have said they prefer to order from them, since the price is CAD, so depending on the exchange rate and price vs sale price, even having to pay for shipping, it can come out cheaper. From what I've read on MR, usually the shipping experiences are better than directly from Kobo. If you want to return in store, obviously Walmart is the better option.
