I have started with a normal calibre instance on my PC for my ebooks. This is now version 5.3 on a Windows 10 Professional 64bit machine.
I also started a calibre portable for my audiobooks. This is a portable version, 5.3 on an external disk. Of course I only add the data manually and the real audiofiles are in their own directory. I now think it would be better to enter audiobooks in the main calibre library. In order to enter data I already stored in the audiobook calibre I need to have it open and read the data. There is no simple merge possible because the columns are different and in order to add missing data I would need both calibre open anyway. This is the problem. It seems you can not run two instances even if one is portable and in theory completley independent and with two very different libraries. Any ideas how to solve this dilemma? Or can I get an output of the audio database similar to a csv file in other database apps? |

Open you audiobook library alone, select all the books and right click > copy to library > choose your other library. This will copy all the entries from you audiobook library to your book library. It prompt you if you want to create any missing column.
